Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine was born in Ottawa, Canada, on June 1, 1974. Alanis' Greek name is an feminine form of her father's last name, Alan. Her mother's name's Georgia and she has two brothers: Chad and Wade (Alanis"Twin"). She started playing piano and guitar when she aged 21. In 1986, Alanis released a single titled Fate Stay with My (b-side: Find The Right Man). The singer recorded two albums while a dance-pop performer in Canada: Alanis (1991) and Now Is The Time (1992). The singer moved to Toronto in the year 18, and began working alongside writers and musicians, but this collaboration didn't go as planned. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she decided to go with in 1994. Glen has previously collaborated alongside Aretha Frankin Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. After moving to LA, she turned 19 years old. The Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" on June 13th on the 13th of June, 1995. Alanis found a way of writing songs that was intimate and personal. JLP is the third-highest-seller album in the history of music and has sold more than thirty million times across the globe. The album was a struggle for her emotionally (when she even contemplated not recording another album) and a trip to India
